About Elm Farm Kitchens

Welcome to the world of Elm Farm – where your dreams really can come true with your own Bespoke Kitchen.

For years now people have been buying old dilapidated barns and converting them into beautiful homes. The exposed timber rafters, rustic flagstone floors, thick stone walls, and commanding fire places, somehow fill you with inspiration. Maybe it is because of the tremendous craftsmanship that went into building these places, or could it be because of the stories they would tell if they could.

Until now finding a kitchen that works in harmony with the traditional features of these properties has been very limited. If you are happy to go contemporary, minimalistic, then this can work. If however you are looking for something a little different, we believe we have something very special to offer.

My name is Mark Smith. I am the owner and founder of Elm Farm and I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to look over this website.

I have taken all the benefits of modern kitchens (such as easy flow, cushioned stop draws, integrated appliances, etc) and combined it with ledged and braced doors, solid wood units, rustic handmade hinges and handles, etc. They are constructed out of new or reclaimed timber. I design the kitchens in such a way that skilled craftsmen, of the era these barns were made in, could have made them with the tools they had. Slate, solid block timber, or tiles with a hardwood trim make gorgeous work surfaces, particularly as these materials have been used for centuries and therefore blend in seamlessly and because I make every kitchen by hand you can put your own ideas into it as well.

With handmade bespoke furniture you get nothing less than unique designs crafted personally by myself.

“Excellent craftsman.  Mark took the time to understand what we wanted him to do and source exactly the right wood.  He was also able to overcome any design problems that occurred and come up with a solution.  The finished bathroom is exactly what we wanted and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.” – Helen and John (Cirencester)
